About the Role
As VP, Engineering & AI Platform at Flightline, you will own the engineering organization and the platform that delivers our agentic AI to enterprise clients at scale. You’ll work in close partnership with our CEO and other senior leadership and you’ll bring the platform discipline, team leadership, and enterprise readiness that takes us from validated product to industry-defining infrastructure. You’ll build and lead the US-based engineering organization and own the platform’s production reliability and security. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who’s done this before — built engineering teams that ship hardened software platforms for enterprise deployment and delivered AI in production.
Areas of Responsibility
- Build and lead the US-based engineering organization — recruit, develop, and grow the team.
- Translate product and AI strategy into a scalable, reliable, enterprise-ready platform.
- Own the production lifecycle of the platform — architecture, infrastructure, reliability, observability, and performance.
- Lead enterprise readiness: SOC-2, data security and segregation, compliance, and audit posture.
- Drive platform infrastructure evolution — cloud architecture, database modernization, deployment pipelines.
- Maintain a high standard of engineering excellence — best practices, code review, robust documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of recruiting, developing, and leading engineering teams in a scaling environment.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on enterprise software (financial technology experience is a nice-to-have).
- Deep experience with enterprise-grade data security and privacy principles, including compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
- Experience applying generative AI models in production, with a focus on managing performance, scalability, and real-time integration in SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated success scaling a software platform from validated product through enterprise deployment.
- Strong technical background with expertise writing and deploying production code in common programming languages.
- Experience with modern cloud architectures — Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud (GCP).
- Based on the US East Coast (NY area preferred); able to work US business hours and partner with a growing global team.
