A large retailer is looking for Transportation Specialists to support their equipment and asset management team in Midtown Atlanta, GA.
This will be a FULLY ONSITE role working 4 days a week and 10 hours each day (9:30am-8pm EST) - where weekend work is a must.
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks and projects working with anyone in the transportation field or in retail stores.
Examples of these tasks/projects include:
- If there is a site with too many trailers running out of yard space, you will coordinate with those drivers and gatekeepers to ensure yards stay fluid.
- You could be troubleshooting issues with a driver, evaluating scheduling or labor issues, working with carrier managers, supporting another department’s equipment request(s), etc.
While there are some standard processes established, this role requires strong ownership, initiative, ability to operate independently, and growth mindset as problem solving and working through ambiguity are daily parts of the job!
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience, ideally with a background in transportation, supply chain, or logistics, working across different teams and departments.
- Strong fundamental Excel experience (such as Macros, VBAs, Graphs, Charting)
- Strong experience with MS Suite of tools and Exchange (creating and managing rules in inbox, etc.)
- Strong technical aptitude as this role requires working within several systems with urgency and speed
- Ability to work through large amounts of data (there is a lot of data this role will be working through for their scheduling systems, creating transportations movements – and some of these movements can be really expensive if not executed correctly)
- Ability to critically assess situations and make good decisions with urgency; as well as ability to talk through thought processes, why a decision made sense or not, and how you communication that
- Experience working in a high-volume environment and being held to performance metrics
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Background in dispatching or transportation (dealing with truckload volume, planning, defects, etc.)
Compensation:
$18.50/hr to $19.50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
