Job Description
We are looking for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being involved in every stage of a project—from the first client conversation to the final walkthrough.
This role is designed for someone who understands excavation and site development, enjoys solving problems, and can confidently lead both people and projects. You'll work closely with field crews, customers, contractors, suppliers, and office staff to keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining the high standards our company is known for.
No two days look exactly the same. One morning may start with reviewing plans and meeting with a client, while the afternoon could involve coordinating equipment, supporting a field crew, or developing a proposal for an upcoming project.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Driving Projects Forward
You'll oversee multiple excavation and site development projects at various stages, helping ensure jobs are properly planned, staffed, supplied, and executed. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of construction operations and the ability to anticipate challenges before they impact production.
Building Project Plans & Pricing
You will review project plans, visit sites, gather information, and develop budgets and proposals that accurately reflect project requirements. A strong understanding of earthwork, septic systems, site preparation, utility work, and construction means and methods is essential.
Leading People
You will provide support and direction to field personnel while helping create a positive, accountable, and productive work environment. The ability to communicate expectations clearly and earn the respect of crews through knowledge and leadership is critical.
Coordinating Resources
A significant part of this position involves making sure the right people, equipment, materials, and subcontractors are in the right place at the right time. You will work closely with administrative staff and field personnel to maintain schedules and keep projects progressing smoothly.
Managing Relationships
Our clients and business partners expect professionalism, responsiveness, and honesty. You will serve as a key representative of the company when interacting with customers, contractors, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and suppliers.
The Right Candidate Will Have
- Extensive experience in excavation, site work, earthmoving, utility installation, septic systems, or related construction fields.
- The ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.
- Practical knowledge of heavy equipment operations and construction sequencing.
- Experience developing project budgets, estimates, or proposals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- The confidence to make decisions and solve problems independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- The ability to balance office responsibilities with field involvement.
- A desire to contribute to a growing company and help improve operations.
