Our client is searching for a Director, Supply Chain Operations who is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain functions: transportation, electronic commerce, data governance, inventory control, and loss prevention. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service excellence while aligning supply chain strategies with overall business objectives. The Director, Supply Chain Operations will focus on building a strong, accountable team, improving cross-functional alignment, and driving consistent execution that supports growth, margin expansion, and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop teams to achieve business objectives
- Build leadership and functional capability within the team, creating clear ownership and accountability at all levels
- Establish a culture of reliability, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Ensure consistent, reliable execution across inventory management and vendor fulfillment
- Identify and address gaps in processes, tools, and team capabilities
- Maintain a strong focus on day-to-day performance while building more scalable processes
- Work closely with Merchandising, Stores, and Finance to align supply chain strategies with company initiatives
- Facilitate clear decision-making around trade-offs (inventory vs. margin, service vs. cost)
- Identify practical opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working (catalogue operations, electronic commerce, etc.)
- Support implementation and optimization of systems (ERP, supply chain tools) as needed
- Bring a pragmatic, ROI-focused approach to change
- Weekly and monthly performance reporting (oral and written) to C-Suite and senior leadership teams
- Establish and monitor KPIs tied to service and operational efficiency
- Create a regular operating cadence to review performance and drive accountability
- Partner with Finance to manage costs and support budget and supply chain processes
- Hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing strategy and execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field desired
- 8–12+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory, or operations, preferably in specialty retail or consumer goods
- At least 5+ years of people leadership experience, including developing managers
- Experience in a growth-oriented or PE-backed environment preferred
