The Opportunity
To conform to U.S. export control regulations, requirements of this position include being eligible to work with export-controlled products and related data without restriction.
The IT Director is responsible for leading the technology infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and day-to-day IT operations of the organization. This is a working leadership role, you will manage a team, own the environment, and serve as the primary point of accountability for system reliability, security, and support quality for an organization that has multiple sites across the country.
You will work directly with organizational leadership and have meaningful input into how technology decisions are made. The role requires someone who can move between technical execution and clear communication with non-technical stakeholders without losing altitude on either end.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of IT professionals
- Manage daily operations, resource allocation, and workload priorities
- Translate IT requirements and constraints into clear communication for leadership
Infrastructure Management
- Oversee servers, networks, storage, cloud environments, and enterprise hardware
- Maintain system reliability, performance, and scalability
- Manage the full asset lifecycle from procurement through end-of-life
- Own vendor relationships and technology contracts
Cybersecurity
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and controls aligned with company standards
- Monitor for vulnerabilities and threats; lead incident response
- Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable security standards and regulatory requirements
Governance and Documentation
- Maintain current documentation: network diagrams, system configurations, and SOPs
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits
- Ensure adherence to industry’s best practices and internal compliance frameworks
Support and Service Delivery
- Oversee the helpdesk function and ensure timely, effective issue resolution
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical problems
- Improve end-user experience through training, communication, and proactive support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years of relevant IT experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Microsoft 365 environments (GCC High preferred)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, or similar)
- Experience working within Windows-based environments and business systems
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data environments (e.g., SQL, C#, or similar)
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP) are preferred
