Job Summary
This is primarily an on-site position and requires residency in Broome County, NY or adjacent counties.
This project management position is responsible for developing and maintaining project plans from discovery through closure for a local government. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for DevOps, with considerable leeway for independent judgment in carrying out assigned duties and responsibilities. Performs related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long term goals;
- Assists in delegating project tasks based on staff member’s individual strength, skill sets, experience levels and workload;
- Assists and coordinates information technology projects including the identification of project scope, selection of vendors, negotiation of vendor contracts and price agreements, and writes and submits final project proposals for funding review and approval;
- Coordinates purchasing activities related to projects
- Assists in providing direction, support, and schedules for all staff assigned to the project;
- Communicates with supervisor and directors in relation to IT projects regarding staffing needs and employee issues;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or closely related field, and possession of a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or one (1) year experience in leading projects; OR
B) Possession of an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or closely related field, and possession of a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and one (1) year experience in leading projects or three (3) years’ experience in leading projects; OR
C) Graduation from high school or possession of a general equivalency diploma and possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or five (5) years of experience in leading projects; OR
D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A), B), and C) above.
Pay: $69,169.00 per year
