We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paramedic to join our dynamic emergency department team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and patient assessment. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for delivering prompt, professional care, managing complex medical situations, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients under your care.
Essential Duties:
· Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of Nursing with documentation of proper training and skills evaluation.
· Assists with codes and critical care patients within the emergency department at the paramedic level, including interdepartmental transport and monitoring
· Assesses patients to obtain medical history, medications, allergies, etc. Completes screening form to determine any contraindications for the procedure.
· Triage role: Assists charge nurse and/or triage nurse in assessing, prioritizing, and maintaining patient flow and assists in reassessing patient waiting to be seen.
· Performs clinical duties including patient advocacy, direct patient care, and meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient.
· Monitors patient’s vital signs per established policy.
· Responsible for performing IV inserts on patients as necessary.
· Responsible for blood draws when necessary
· Responsible for completing Nasal swabs when necessary
· Responds to any medical emergency situation on MSHS property and takes appropriate action.
· Navigate and document in the Electronic Health record.
· Responds to requests for paramedic level services from areas within the emergency department in a timely and safe manner.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of two years’ full-time experience preferred as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting (paramedic level preferred).
Required Licenses/Certifications
Current EMT-P registration in the state.
Current certification in CPR, American Heart Association Course C or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS, American Heart Association
Salary commensurate with experience.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
