Mechanical Engineer
Location: Florence, South Carolina
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support for field turnbacks received from the elevator field mechanics.
The engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems, while working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments.
Job Description
Typical responsibilities include:
- Component design.
- Modeling.
- Cost analysis.
- Technical documentation.
- Testing of a wide range of elevator components.
The candidate should be responsible, self-motivated, able to work individually, in an engineering and cross-functional team environment, have a strong background in mechanical engineering, and a good understanding of the manufacturing process.
The candidate will be expected to work closely with field representatives to drive closure of the Field Turnback Backlog by implementing engineering changes as part of the change control process.
Experience / Skills
- Strong mechanical engineering background.
- Design and modeling of mechanical components with Creo or other 3D CAD software.
- Technical documentation.
- Sheet metal design.
- Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- PDM / PLM software.
- Test and measurement equipment.
- Hands-on testing or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
- Cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Communicating technical solutions to non-technical team members.
