Project Manager (Heavy Civil / Infrastructure)

Salary: $165,000 – $220,000 (dependent on experience)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex heavy civil and infrastructure projects across New York City. This role will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a strong emphasis on safety, contract compliance, cost control, and schedule performance in a highly regulated public-works environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full project lifecycle including planning, procurement, execution, and closeout
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure on-time delivery
- Coordinate with public agencies, owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal field teams
- Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract administration
- Lead change management processes, including CORs, RFIs, and claims mitigation
- Ensure compliance with NYC agencies (DOT, DEP, DDC), safety standards, and contract requirements
- Support constructability reviews and value engineering efforts during preconstruction
- Maintain strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company and site-specific safety protocols
- Act as primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience managing heavy civil or infrastructure projects
- Experience working on NYC public works projects (e.g., utilities, sitework, roadway, or environmental projects)
- Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, contract administration, and risk management
- Familiarity with NYC agency requirements and permitting processes
- Proficiency with project management and cost tracking tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with utility infrastructure, environmental remediation, or site development projects
- Background working with union labor environments
- Experience delivering Design-Build or CM/GC projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
