Responsibilities
- Respond swiftly to emergency calls, providing immediate advanced life support and critical care transport for patients in various settings.
- Assess patient conditions through comprehensive physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and detailed patient assessments.
- Manage airways effectively using airway management techniques and administer oxygen or medications as needed.
- Perform invasive procedures such as venipuncture and injections with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Utilize physiology and anatomy knowledge to interpret medical data, guide treatment decisions, and communicate clearly with hospital staff during patient handoffs.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating strong driving skills while managing heavy lifting and physical demands during rescue operations.
- Document all patient care activities accurately, including vital signs, medication administration, and treatment interventions, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Paramedic with critical care experience preferred; hospital or emergency room experience highly valued.
- Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, medication administration, and emergency medicine procedures.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and vital signs assessment.
- Experience with triage processes at Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
- EMT certification required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are essential.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture, and administer injections confidently and aseptically.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding situations.
