Primary Position Objectives
The UWC-USA program – a two-year experience that integrates our Academic, UWC CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service), and Residential curricula – prepares students to serve as catalysts for greater unity, peace, and sustainability in the world. We support students in the practice of our mission during their two years on campus and challenge them to live our mission for a lifetime. The Transportation and Safety Coordinator will coordinate the operations and functions of UWC-USA Transportation. while maintaining all safety protocols.
Position Responsibilities
- Coordinates transportation of students, guests, members of our community and other individuals as needed to/from campus or /other designated areas in coordination with the Transportation Supervisor to meet the needs of community members, including, but not limited to, Academics, CAS, Student Life, Admissions, Administration, etc.
- Works with the Transportation Supervisor and the Director of Residential Life & Student Safety to communicate with Students and families to gather required information for travel during August, December, March, May or other times when a large percentage of, or all students, are leaving or returning to campus.
- Manages relationships with drivers and transportation providers. Schedules drives and drivers. Ensures that drivers have appropriate training and instruction for use of UWC-USA vehicles. Coordinates access to WEX cards.
- Ensures that drivers complete pre- and post-trip reports for each trip. Enters trip details into Trip tracking software or other location for tracking.
- Inspects vehicles regularly for damage, presence of required documents, valid registrations etc
- Tracks vehicle availability, status and maintenance needs and updates in required systems
- Coordinates with Transportation Supervisor regarding maintenance and other needs.
- Conduct routine light maintenance work (topping up fluids, checking tires, replacing wipers, etc) with an aim toward safety, vehicle functionality, and longevity
- Coordinates and or completes cleaning of vehicles in time for trips
- Coordinates and processes local, state and federal agency transportation filings as directed
- Coordinates and processes vehicle license and registration filings as directed
- Assists in maintaining smooth, efficient operations of vehicle GPS and Dashcam systems
- Serves as first point of contact with Drivers who have violated the Transportion policy or procedures, with regard to speeding etc. – Reports all incidents to HR and Transportation supervisor immediately
- Administer and provides training in the online trip reservation system to community members as needed. Provides training related to transportation, including safety and driver training.
- Troubleshoot problems with the trip reservation system
- Works on call, works shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Drives trips as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School graduation or GED.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies on and off campus.
- Ability to work with people effectively.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, execute and document specific administrative and management functions with a sense of the long term goals of the department.
- Must have valid NM driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

- Familiarity with Google Suite including Google Sheets, and with Microsoft Excel.
