Job Description
Pathmark Transportation is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee and manage our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency. The position is located in Douglasville, GA. The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of routing, delivery performance, customer support and driver recruiting. The Transportation Manager will oversee worker & driver training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary. Previous experience with DOT rules and regulations is required.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure all work is safely performed according to Pathmark Transportation approved procedures, standards, and specifications
- Directly lead all activities for drivers, and support personnel
- Plan and coordinate transportation operations to meet customer needs
- Monitor transportation costs and performance metrics
- Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair schedules
- Resolve transportation-related issues in a timely manner
- Proven experience in transport management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance procedures
- Daily load planning and routing per customer delivery schedule and times for efficiency and cost reduction
- Provide guidance to subordinates on goals and objectives on a weekly basis
- Be responsible for employee development, accountability, coaching, and counseling

Qualifications:
Must have management experience (5+ years preferred), in a high-volume, fast distribution environment
- Understand the geographic territory of Atlanta and surrounding states.
- Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess demonstrated leadership ability in safety and employee development & retention
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations
- Must be flexible to work weekends and nights occasionally
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
- May be required to get qualified to drive Non-CDL equipment

Schedule:
- Sunday thru Thursday schedule with option to rotate to Mon-Fri.
- 10-hour shift
