Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced
Network / Systems Administrator for our client, a fully accredited laboratory specializing in a range of health-related testing services.
This is a contract position based onsite in Portland, OR.
Position Overview
This is an interim IT Support role designed to provide hands-on operational and security coverage across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, and network infrastructure. This individual contributor will be responsible for maintaining day-to-day IT operations while ensuring a strong security posture across endpoints, cloud environments, and network systems.

Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including Conditional Access policies, Intune device enrollment and compliance, Defender for Endpoint, and Purview data protection controls
- Maintain and monitor Azure environments with a focus on secure configuration, access controls, and overall security posture for cloud-hosted applications
- Manage endpoint environments across a mixed device landscape, including policy enforcement, patching, and baseline configuration through Intune
- Support security monitoring, alerting, and incident response within M365 and Azure, including log review and response to potential threats
- Oversee network operations, including firewall management, VPN configuration, site-to-site connectivity, VLAN setup, and network segmentation
- Document current systems, configurations, and operational processes to support compliance requirements and enable smooth transition to future IT leadership
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration, including Conditional Access, Intune, Defender, and Purview
- Working knowledge of Azure security and cloud environment management, including monitoring and access control
- Experience with security monitoring, alerting, and incident response in M365/Azure environments
- Strong endpoint management experience across diverse device environments
- Hands-on networking experience, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation (experience with Ubiquiti UniFi is a plus)
- Proven ability to operate independently with a strong security mindset and sound decision-making
- Experience in HIPAA-regulated or similar compliance-driven environments preferred
- Ability to document systems and processes clearly to support compliance and transition efforts???????
Compensation & Benefits
