Ready to lead the charge in revolutionizing custom architectural millwork and see your designs built for nationwide clients?
About the Position:
We are expanding our engineering team and are seeking a driven Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks experience to support our custom manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be at the forefront of turning complex architectural concepts into real, buildable solutions for clients across the nation. We specialize in designing and building custom casework, architectural millwork, retail store fixtures, and commercial cabinetry. Every project is custom, meaning no catalogs and no mass production, just precision, craftsmanship, and engineered solutions built to spec. We are looking for someone who shows initiative, is ready to take on a meaningful share of the engineering workload, and wants to be part of a collaborative, family-like environment where your extra effort and ownership are strongly rewarded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and shop drawings using SolidWorks, translating architectural drawings into manufacturable, engineered solutions.
- Develop and maintain accurate cut lists, bills of materials (BOMs), and part files, passing critical materials information to our purchasing team.
- Work on multiple custom projects in parallel, ensuring drawings meet production standards, quality expectations, and timelines to shorten lead times.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, and installers to resolve engineering challenges related to custom manufacturing, machining, stability, and fitment.
- Maintain organized documentation and revision control throughout each project, producing passable, accurate drawings that minimize rework.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 2-5+ years of hands-on experience using SolidWorks to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and assemblies.
- A strong background in millwork, cabinetry, store fixtures, or other highly customized production environments, though we are open to candidates with strong CAD skills from adjacent industries like metal fabrication.
- A high level of drive, a positive attitude, and the willingness to put in the extra effort needed to push projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
At our company, you will join a team that values precision, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. We invest in our people and offer the opportunity to work on custom projects installed nationwide while learning the commercial millwork industry from experienced professionals. If you are ready to make an immediate impact, take ownership of your work, and build a long-term career with a growing, stable company, apply now!
