As our volume and global footprint expand, we are looking for an experienced Head of Logistics and Compliance to scale our operations and lead our backend team.
Role Overview: The Head of Logistics and Compliance is a crucial leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of our wine inventory—from international import and freight to warehouse management, domestic fulfillment, and strict regulatory compliance. You will ensure our supply chain runs smoothly, our inventory data is perfectly accurate, and our business remains fully compliant with all state and federal alcohol regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and optimize all warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage domestic and international freight, negotiating rates and coordinating with forwarders to ensure safe, temperature-controlled, and timely transit of high-value wines.
- Oversee all state and federal alcohol compliance, including TTB regulations, direct-to-consumer (DtC) shipping laws, and state licensing renewals.
- Maintain impeccable inventory integrity and reporting, ensuring our physical warehouse counts perfectly match our digital platforms (Shopify, Zoho, etc.) for financial and lending compliance.
- Build, implement, and refine tech-forward backend systems to scale our logistics efficiently.
- Manage, train, and develop the warehouse and logistics team to meet our Michelin-level standards of detail and care.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations, specifically within the wine or beverage alcohol industry.
- Deep, working knowledge of US alcohol compliance, including the three-tier system, importer regulations, and DtC shipping laws.
- Extensive experience managing international freight, customs, and cold-chain wine logistics.
- Highly analytical with strong tech skills; proficiency in Shopify, Zoho, or similar inventory/ERP management platforms.
- A hospitality-driven mindset with an obsessive attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
