The Opportunity
Are you a problem-solver who understands the intricate hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical gearing of modern transmissions?
We are a leading provider of advanced powertrain solutions, partnering with top OEMs to deliver high-quality, reliable mobility technologies to the global market. We are currently seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to take ownership of our transmission product lines at our rapidly expanding facility.
In this role, you won’t just be pushing paper, you will be a hands-on technical leader on the production floor. You will drive continuous improvement, lead root-cause analysis on complex powertrain systems, and ensure that every transmission leaving our facility meets or exceeds strict OEM standards. If you are passionate about automotive engineering, lean manufacturing, and building a culture of zero-defects, we want you on our team.
What You Will Do
- Drive Quality Excellence: Serve as the subject matter expert for transmission quality, overseeing Process Control Plans (PCP), PFMEAs, and standard operating procedures for complex transmission assembly and testing.
- Lead Root-Cause Analysis: Conduct hands-on teardowns and deep-dive investigations into warranty returns and end-of-line test failures. Utilize 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa methodologies to implement permanent corrective actions.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Partner closely with Manufacturing and Product Engineering teams to apply Lean principles, optimize assembly processes, and eliminate waste and production bottlenecks.
- New Product Integration: Play a critical role in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for the launch of new transmission and drivetrain programs.
- Supplier Quality Collaboration: Work with internal purchasing and external suppliers to assess component quality, resolve non-conformances, and qualify new parts for production use.
- Empower the Team: Train, mentor, and guide production technicians and quality inspectors on defect identification, best practices, and the mechanical intricacies of transmission systems.
What You Bring to the Table
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related highly technical field.
- Industry Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on quality engineering experience within the automotive, heavy-duty, or Tier-1 manufacturing sectors.
- Transmission Mastery: A deep understanding of the operational principles, hydraulics, and electrical diagnostics of automatic transmissions and drivetrain components.
- Quality Toolbelt: Strong proficiency with core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and CAPA.
- Standards Knowledge: Working knowledge of automotive quality management systems, specifically IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical data into actionable steps for both executive leadership and front-line assembly teams.
- Certifications (A Plus): ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or ASE Transmission Certifications are highly preferred.
Why Join Us?
- Real Impact: Your work directly impacts the reliability, performance, and safety of vehicles used by millions of people every day, while championing sustainable and efficient manufacturing practices.
