Senior Manager of Fleet
JOB PURPOSE: Manage all aspects of daily fleet operations. Monitor compliance with and recommend adjustments to company policy to maximize vehicle utilization, reliability, and reduce liability exposure. Ensure all vehicles are compliant with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support field fleet operations, including fuel cards, geo-tab access, vehicle transfers, vehicle maintenance and repairs, rentals, and accident repairs.
- Process journal entries to ensure proper accounting of fleet expenses.
- Develop tools and processes that reduce field operators’ time spent on fleet related activities, so they can focus on their core responsibilities.
- Monitor field compliance with company policy adjusting procedures as necessary.
- Evaluate and benchmark current policies and procedures to ensure the greatest level of service is being given to field operations.
- Analyze fleet related expenses to identify potential cost savings and to ensure accuracy and appropriate cost allocation.
- Anticipate supply chain challenges and implement appropriate modifications.
- Assist Risk Management with preventative measures and cost containment.
- Maintain strong working relationships with all vendors to ensure vendor service levels are compliant with established policies.
- Conduct an annual review of vendor performance to ensure vendor service levels are met.
- Manage departmental key responsibilities and staff members adjusting as needed to ensure field operations are fully supported.
- Oversee fleet maintenance to ensure lowest cost maintenance is achieved.
- Oversee fleet accident claims to ensure safety requirements are met at efficient costs.
- Create and maintain fleet management reports on each key responsibility function.
- Continually train and develop staff members to ensure they remain current with necessary certifications as well as company and department goals and objectives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Minimum five years’ experience in corporate fleet management.
- Minimum five years’ experience managing a team of 2+ coworkers.
- Knowledge of all aspects of nationwide fleet operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance practices, risk management and collision repairs is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to work and make decisions independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
