Logistics Manager – Transportation & Freight
Our client is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager – Transportation & Freight to oversee all inbound transportation, freight operations, and international logistics for its manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring cost‑effective, compliant, and reliable movement of materials across road, air, and sea while maintaining strong carrier relationships and optimizing freight performance.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping, customs processes, and freight cost management—along with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead inbound transportation planning across road, air, and sea to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Manage and apply Incoterms to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant global transactions.
- Oversee carrier, freight forwarder, and customs broker relationships, including service levels, performance reviews, and rate negotiations.
- Monitor freight performance metrics and drive improvements in delivery reliability and cost efficiency.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance for international shipments, including import/export documentation and customs requirements.
- Navigate customs processes to prevent delays and ensure on‑time delivery of goods.
- Maintain accurate logistics documentation and support trade compliance audits.
- Analyze transportation modes, routes, and consolidation opportunities to reduce freight costs while maintaining service levels.
- Review freight invoices, identify discrepancies, and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Provide data‑driven insights to supply chain leadership on freight trends and opportunities.
- Partner with procurement, production, warehouse, and corporate logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow.
- Support inventory planning and inbound scheduling to align transportation with production needs.
- Communicate shipment status, risks, and delays to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of logistics, transportation, or freight management experience—manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping, and customs import/export requirements.
- Proven experience managing carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
