A well-established, multi-site foodservice distribution company is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to lead transportation operations within a fast‑paced, multi‑shift distribution operation. This organization supports nationally recognized restaurant brands and continues to expand across the eastern U.S.
This role oversees transportation supervisors, drivers, and dispatch, with responsibility for safety, compliance, scheduling, fleet operations, and performance metrics. The Transportation Manager plays a key role in forecasting volume, controlling costs, and ensuring safe, on‑time delivery to customers.
Key Focus Areas
- Lead and develop transportation supervisors and frontline teams
- Own DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and safety compliance
- Oversee fleet operations, maintenance planning, and vendor management
- Manage budgets, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations and leadership
- Drive a strong safety‑first culture
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Logistics, Supply Chain)
- 3–5+ years of transportation or distribution leadership experience
- Strong DOT and regulatory knowledge
- Experience managing teams, budgets, and safety programs
- Class A CDL strongly preferred
