Job Summary
The Production Data Analyst supports manufacturing operations by developing, maintaining, and analyzing production data, reports, and dashboards. This role works closely with Production, Planning, and Engineering teams to provide accurate, timely visibility into shop performance, capacity, and WIP. The analyst will also assist with production scheduling activities, including creating and closing work orders within the manufacturing system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Production Reporting & Dashboards
- Develop, maintain, and enhance production reports and dashboards related to throughput, yield, scrap, WIP, labor, and machine utilization
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports by validating inputs from ERP systems
- Automate recurring reports to reduce manual data handling
- Customize dashboards to support daily production meetings and management reviews
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, and performance gaps in optical manufacturing processes (grinding, polishing, coating, assembly, etc.)
Data Management & Analysis
- Extract, transform, and analyze production data from ERP, MES, and other manufacturing systems
- Maintain data definitions and documentation for standard production metrics
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis to support continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and decision-making
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to support yield and process improvement initiatives
Production Scheduling Support
- Assist Production Planning with creating, releasing, updating, and closing work orders in the ERP system
- Verify routing, labor standards, and work center assignments for accuracy
- Monitor job status and help resolve data or system issues impacting scheduling or reporting
- Support reconciliation of completed jobs, labor reporting, and material usage

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production data role
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation)
- Experience building dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and work order/job tracking
Analytical Skills: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and verification with strong ability to consistently notice, process and correct small errors to ensure all information is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
