Position Summary:
EOS Trucking is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Load Planner to join our operations team. The Load Planner will be responsible for efficiently planning, scheduling, and coordinating freight loads to maximize equipment utilization and ensure on-time deliveries. This role plays a critical part in maintaining profitability and driver satisfaction through strategic load assignments and proactive communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and assign loads to drivers and trucks based on location, availability, and customer requirements for both refrigerated and dry van customers.
- Optimize routes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with HOS (Hours of Service) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and customers to resolve issues and provide updates.
- Monitor load progress and make adjustments as needed to address delays, breakdowns, or changes.
- Coordinate with customer service and operations teams to meet delivery expectations.
- Track and analyze load performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records within TMS (Transportation Management System).
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in load planning, dispatching, or logistics coordination (trucking industry preferred).
- Strong understanding of DOT and HOS regulations.
- Proficient with TMW software, DAT Load board and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities—able to work effectively with drivers and customers under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred).
