Summary
The Logistics Dispatcher for TALKE USA is responsible for coordinating and optimizing daily transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of freight. This role combines real-time dispatch execution with proactive planning to maximize equipment utilization, reduce empty miles, support driver compliance, and meet customer service expectations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, demonstrates strong decision-making skills, and understands the operational and financial impact of effective load planning.
Qualification And Experience
- High school or GED; Associate’s degree preferred in Logistics, Transportation, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in trucking dispatch or transportation coordination
- Experience with route planning and scheduling required
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS)
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS tracking platforms
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data reporting)
- Experience in regional, port, intermodal, in-plant, or industrial freight operations preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Job Tasks
- Assign drivers and equipment to loads based on availability, qualifications, and compliance requirements
- Monitor shipment progress and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Plan daily and weekly routes to maximize efficiency and minimize deadhead miles
- Coordinate reloads and backhauls to increase revenue and equipment utilization
- Communicate load details, changes, and customer updates to drivers
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and HOS requirements
- Track key performance indicators (on-time performance, utilization rates, fuel efficiency)
- Address service disruptions, delays, breakdowns, or schedule changes promptly
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation in TMS
- Collaborate with maintenance, safety, and operations teams as needed
- Support cost control initiatives and operational improvements
