Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, you will focus on optimizing their imports, rail, and truck transportation networks. What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
Your main goal is to keep our client's product moving efficiently, on time, and at the best cost.
Transportation Management:
- Coordinate and track all regional shipments (imports, rail and truck) to guarantee timely customer delivery and maximize asset use.
Inventory Control:
- Ensure the company maintains the right amount of product to meet demand. Maintain system (SAP) accuracy for inventory and month-end reporting.
Cost & Contract Oversight:
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and actively look for ways to cut costs. Manage and maintain all logistics contracts and rate databases.
Communication:
- Act as the primary link between the company's manufacturing/terminal sites, sales team, customers, and shipping carriers.
Team Support:
- Help onboard and train new Logistics Specialists, ensuring consistent, high-quality standards.
What You Will Need (Qualifications)
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years in supply chain, inventory control, or logistics management. Experience with rail transport or industrial materials is a plus.
Expertise:
- Strong analytical and planning abilities.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel required (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, sum-ifs)
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. SAP experience preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
