Job Title: Inbound Logistics Coordinator

Overview:
The Inbound Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all inbound container operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost effective receipt of overseas and domestic containerized freight. This role manages end to end inbound container flow, including shipment scheduling, carrier coordination, PO/ASN reconciliation, dock appointment management, and container unloading readiness to maintain uninterrupted material availability for Camco’s manufacturing and distribution network. The position serves as the primary communication link between suppliers, freight forwarders, ocean carriers, drayage partners, and internal warehouse teams, ensuring that containers move efficiently from port to facility while resolving delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues. The coordinator also tracks inbound container KPIs, audits freight billing, enforces vendor and documentation compliance, and supports continuous improvement across inbound transportation and receiving processes.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily inbound transportation activities including tendering, rate verification, booking, and tracking of shipments.
- Monitor delivery schedules and communicate proactively with suppliers and carriers.
- Schedule and manage dock appointments to maximize receiving efficiency and minimize detention.
- Manage ASN/PO reconciliation, verify inbound quantities and SKUs, and update ERP/WMS systems.
- Review inbound shipping documents to ensure accuracy and prevent delays or errors.
- Resolve discrepancies including shortages, incorrect shipments, or delivery delays.
- Serve as the key contact for suppliers and carriers regarding routing, shipment status, exceptions, and changes.
- Monitor vendor compliance and coordinate corrective action plans.
- Audit freight invoices for billing accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure inbound compliance with transportation regulations and internal requirements.
- Track and report key inbound KPIs.
- Prepare inbound logistics reports for leadership.
- Recommend and implement improvements to inbound logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Equivalent experience in logistics, transportation, receiving, or supply chain operations accepted in lieu of degree.
- 1–2 years experience in shipping/receiving or logistics coordination preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to problem‑solve and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS and shipment tracking tools.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills including Excel/Word
