Position: Quality Engineer
Position Type: 180-day Contract to Hire
Location: Napoleon, OH
Shift: 1st Shift
Position Summary:
Seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join the team in Napoleon, Ohio. In this role, the engineer will support problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts by ensuring strong quality systems, championing APQP, and maintaining process controls within the business unit. The role also involves implementing corporate and plant-level quality procedures and ensuring team members are trained and compliant with these standards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Advanced technical knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes such as: Assembly, extrusion, fabrication, etc.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control and how to use data to drive decisions.
- Advanced knowledge of OEM such as Subaru, Toyota or Honda quality standards, systems, and processes.
- Successful Product Launch / Production Start-up experience including all documentation, testing, data collection, and reporting.
- Experience leading the PPAP process to successful conclusion.
- Advanced knowledge and practical application of Problem Solving / Process Improvement analysis, tools, and techniques.
- Strong root cause analysis background such as 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, or Ishikawa.
- Provide guidance and support to Quality Engineers.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or the equivalent/relevant experience preferred
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent is preferred
- Manufacturing Assembly experience preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in a relevant engineering discipline within a manufacturing environment
- Five (5) to eight (8) years in a quality focused engineering role preferred
