Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Department: Logistics

Position Summary
- The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing international and domestic transportation of finished apparel goods from overseas factories to U.S. warehouses. This role ensures timely shipment execution, accurate documentation, and cost-effective freight management. The position works closely with overseas vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, and internal teams (production, customer service, finance, sales).
Key Responsibilities
International Freight & Import Coordination
· Coordinate ocean and air shipments from overseas factories to U.S. ports.
· Book freight with nominated forwarders (if FOB) upon managers approval.
· Work with customs brokers to clear shipments in a timely manner.
· Track containers and proactively manage delays, port congestion, or disruptions.
· Monitor demurrage, detention, and storage to minimize extra charges.
Vendor & Factory Communication
· Communicate shipping instructions to factories (if FOB).
· Follow up on missing or incorrect documentation.
Domestic Logistics & Distribution
· Coordinate drayage, transload, and final delivery to U.S. warehouses.
· Assist in scheduling warehouse appointments and ensure ASN accuracy.
Inventory & Systems Management
· Maintain accurate shipment data in ERP/WMS systems.
· Update ETAs and communicate changes to internal teams.
· Prepare weekly shipment status reports.
· Reconcile freight invoices and verify charges.
· Maintain organized digital shipping files for audit purposes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Partner with Production, Customer Service and Sales teams to align shipment schedules with delivery deadlines.
· Work with Finance to resolve freight billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
Experience
· 2–5 years of logistics experience, preferably in apparel or consumer goods importing.
· Experience handling ocean freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, and customs clearance.
Skills
· Strong knowledge of international shipping terms (Incoterms).
· Understanding of U.S. import procedures and customs documentation.
· Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with major U.S. ports (e.g., Los Angeles/Long Beach, New York/New Jersey).
· Experience working with overseas offices or factories.
