Our client in Newaygo, MI is seeking a hands-on Industrial Engineer to join their growing automotive manufacturing team. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement optimal manufacturing cell configurations, focusing on material flow, efficiency, and ergonomics.
- Lead standardization efforts for product routings, process documentation, and throughput optimization aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Conduct capacity studies and provide facility layout recommendations that support long-term production goals and customer demand.
- Maintain accurate records of process data, raw material usage, and equipment performance within a centralized system.
- Monitor project timelines and costs, while coordinating with other departments to ensure successful execution.
- Champion workplace safety by adhering to and promoting OSHA standards and best practices.
- Support environmental health and safety (EHS) initiatives, including conformance with ISO14001 standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, offering practical recommendations that drive measurable results.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred, but other disciplines will be considered with relevant experience).
- 1+ years of hands-on engineering or process improvement experience in an automotive manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent academic training.
- Familiarity with plant layout software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Prior experience with ergonomics, capacity planning, and workflow design.
