Position Summary The Internal Junior Systems Administrator supports the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s internal IT infrastructure. This role assists with day-to-day administration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of internal systems, tools, and platforms. The position is designed as an entry-level infrastructure role that develops technical skills while supporting senior engineering staff responsible for architecture and advanced systems design. This role focuses exclusively on supporting internal company systems and employees rather than client-facing environments. Primary Responsibilities
Internal Infrastructure Support Assist in maintaining internal network infrastructure, and cloud services. Perform routine system maintenance including patching, updates, and configuration verification. Monitor system performance, alerts, and health dashboards and escalate issues when required. User and Endpoint Administration Provision, configure, and support employee workstations and laptops. Assist with user account lifecycle management including onboarding, modifications, and offboarding. Maintain access control and permissions following security and compliance policies. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 internal technical support for hardware, software, and system access issues. Internal Tools and Platform Support Assist in administration of internal IT management platforms and business systems. Maintain documentation for internal systems, configurations, and standard procedures. Support internal application deployment, updates, and troubleshooting. Assist with monitoring and reporting on internal system health and compliance posture. Security and Compliance Support Assist with implementation and maintenance of security controls and endpoint protection tools. Support vulnerability remediation efforts and security patch compliance. Participate in internal compliance initiatives and evidence collection. Follow security best practices for system configuration and access management. Documentation and Process Adherence Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset records. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and escalation processes. Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation. Required Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration. Basic knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD) administration. Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. Understanding of endpoint security concepts and patch management. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to follow structured processes and documentation standards. Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field. Industry certifications such as: CompTIA A+ CompTIA Network+ Microsoft Fundamentals or Associate certifications Experience with monitoring, backup, or automation tools.
