Position Summary
The Supply Chain Coordinator supports daily supply chain and materials activities. This role helps ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are available to support production schedules by coordinating purchasing, inventory control, logistics, and supplier communication. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally on the plant floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate purchasing and replenishment of raw materials, components, and packaging to support production
- Create, track, and update purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier confirmations
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and stock adjustments
- Track inbound and outbound shipments; resolve shortages, delays, or discrepancies
- Support production planning by ensuring materials are available when needed
- Communicate with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal teams regarding delivery status and issues
- Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems and ensure data integrity
- Assist with supplier performance tracking, lead times, and cost control initiatives
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, inventory, and supplier coordination
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, materials coordination, purchasing, or manufacturing operations
- Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Understanding of production scheduling, inventory control, and logistics processes
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and freight carriers
- Ability to read bills of materials (BOMs) and production schedules
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts
