Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
A nationally recognized MEP engineering firm is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Boston-area team. With multiple offices across the U.S. and several hundred employees nationwide, this firm offers the stability and resources of a large organization while maintaining a highly collaborative, engineering-driven culture at the local office level.
The team supports a diverse portfolio of healthcare, higher education, science & technology, federal, and mission-critical projects, delivering high-performance mechanical systems from planning through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, and plumbing for complex building projects
- Support projects through all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration
- Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections
- Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction documents
- Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and sustainability teams
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Assist with technical reports, specifications, and project narratives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in mechanical design within an MEP consulting environment
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems; plumbing and fire protection exposure preferred
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with healthcare, higher education, or mission-critical facilities a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
- EIT or pursuing PE licensure strongly preferred
