R&D and Process Engineer

Position Overview
All-In Nutritionals is seeking a highly motivated mid-level R&D and Process Engineer to support our R&D Executive and Head Formulator in the development, testing, and scale-up of dietary supplement formulations. This role is hands-on, in-person, and plays a critical function as the bridge between R&D, QC and manufacturing.
The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with formulas, equipment, and production teams, and thrives in translating formulations from concept to full-scale manufacturing. This position will significantly reduce bottlenecks between formulation development and production execution while improving efficiency, documentation, and product consistency and also assisting in formulating products for the Company’s and Private Label brands.
Key Responsibilities
R&D and Formulation
- Work directly with the R&D Executive and head formulators to assist in formulation development, batching, and refinement
- Prepare pilot and scale-up batches for testing and production readiness
- Assist with ingredient selection, basic cost considerations, and formulation adjustments based on manufacturing performance
- Provide feedback on how formulas behave during processing and suggest potential improvements
- Research ingredients and formula concepts and validation
Manufacturing and Process Engineering
- Serve as the primary liaison between R&D and manufacturing for new and updated/upgraded formulas
- Run test batches on manufacturing equipment prior to full production runs
- Adjust and dial in machinery settings to optimize performance for specific formulas
- Support manufacturing teams during initial production runs of new products
- Stay with new formulas through startup until processes are stable and repeatable
Documentation and Systems
- Write clear, step-by-step process documentation for formulations and manufacturing procedures
- Enter and refine formula and process workflows in Mar-Kov ERP
- Ensure all formulas are accurately documented for repeatability, training, and scalability
- Assist in continuous improvement of existing formulations and processes
- Assist in maintaining compliance with NSF cGMP requirements and related documentation standards
Customer and CM Support
- Prepare and coordinate samples for contract manufacturing customers
- Assist with internal and external customer formulation support and correspondence as needed
- Help troubleshoot customer-specific formulation or processing questions/concerns
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong understanding and knowledge of dietary supplements, ingredients, and formulations
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment and around production equipment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to document processes clearly and accurately
- Willingness to work hands-on with formulas, equipment, and samples
- Ability to clearly communicate; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a Team
- Flexibility and eagerness to grow long-term with our Company
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in Springfield, Ohio
Preferred
- Experience in dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Familiarity with blending, encapsulation, topicals, powder filling, gummy, liquid processing equipment, and flavor systems
- Understanding of cGMP manufacturing environments
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing software, especially Mar-Kov
- Mechanical aptitude or interest in learning how machines operate and are adjusted
- Ability to problem-solve quickly during production challenges

Salary Range: Starting $62,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience, with clear opportunity for advancement and compensation growth as the role expands.
