Mechanical Engineer – Engineering Applications Support & Technical Training

Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer – Engineering Applications Support & Technical Training role focuses on helping users apply engineering concepts within specialized software used for excavation and earthwork planning. The position blends technical engineering expertise with training and customer support, acting as a trusted technical resource for engineers, estimators, and construction professionals. The role also provides a pathway to expanded responsibilities in product development, technical leadership, or advanced engineering support.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide technical application support to users by applying mechanical and civil engineering principles related to grades, slopes, elevations, quantities, and site conditions.
- Train customers on effective and advanced use of the application, translating engineering theory into practical workflows.
- Support new feature releases by explaining functionality, use cases, and engineering impact.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to communicate real-world feedback and contribute to future enhancements.
- Assist in creating training materials that reinforce engineering best practices and industry-specific workflows.
- Build strong working relationships with customers and internal teams as a technical subject-matter resource.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- One year or more years of experience in an engineering, technical, or construction-adjacent role preferred.
- Strong understanding of applied engineering concepts and the ability to explain them clearly.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with customers.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Windows 10 or higher operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to construction, excavation, or earthwork projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with CAD or engineering software tools. Experience supporting or training users in technical applications. Interest in expanding into product-focused or technical leadership roles over time.
