Manufacturing Engineer (Operations/Quality)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, qualify, and refine production processes to meet all design and business requirements, including safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery
- Collaborate with others to solve production challenges
- Evaluate customer products for manufacturability; forecast, develop, and implement tooling as required
- Resolve product non-conformances and collaborate with the team to implement root cause corrective actions
- Develop and refine floor layouts, capacity models, and product flow analysis to ensure on-time delivery for customers
- Develop and implement quality tools, processes, and inspection equipment capable of rivaling any top-tier manufacturing facility.
- Perform hardware inspections, using basic (calipers, micrometers) and advanced (CMMs, profilometers) measurement tools, to ensure components meet customer specifications.
- Manage Corrective Actions, NCR’s, revision control, and other quality-focused documents.
- Direct and implement policies and procedures compliant with ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485 and other similar quality standards.
- Work with and train team members in quality processes to improve work products and productivity.
- Wear multiple hats on any given day to support the team and company as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
- Must be a self-starter, high-organized, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Experience working in a QMS or similar type system, actively participating in NCR’s, CAPA’s, and other quality-based documents.
- Ability to read engineering prints, proficient interpretation of GD&T feature interpretation.
- Patience to educate team on quality processes, policies, and equipment.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Machining or welding background or/and engineering background with hands-on experience.
- Experience developing and implementing production work-flows to improve on-time delivery and efficient operations
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, CMM’s, and other common inspection equipment typically seen in a modern manufacturing quality environment.
- Experience participating in or deciding on quality equipment purchases.
- Experience developing and implementing quality policies across an organization.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to help achieve company goals in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Possess a strong desire to help maintain shop cleanliness and organization, and maintain a lean manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP’s/QMS’s.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass background check.
- Available to work all required shift hours and be available to work overtime, and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) unassisted.
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand.
- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain.
- Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
