Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager specializing in Disaster Preparedness & Response to lead our efforts in enhancing community resilience and emergency readiness. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement disaster preparedness and response strategies aligned with community needs and organizational goals.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of emergency management initiatives, including training exercises and public education campaigns.
- Manage volunteer programs, including recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers involved in disaster response activities.
- Write grant proposals to secure funding for disaster preparedness projects and manage budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Serve as a public speaker at community events, conferences, and media engagements to raise awareness about disaster readiness and public health issues.
- Collaborate with local government agencies, healthcare providers, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen emergency response networks.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to emergency management and public health standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in program management within emergency management or public health sectors.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent public speaking abilities for community outreach and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated success in grant proposal writing to secure funding for large-scale projects.
- Experience in volunteer management, including recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers during emergencies.
- Knowledge of emergency management principles, protocols, and best practices.
- Proficiency in budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight for programs.
- Background in public health or related fields is highly desirable.
