Works closely with City departments, TXDOT (Texas Department of Transportation), consultants and engineering firms in reviewing of site developments, subdivisions and major plans concerning water and sanitary sewer systems, including lift stations, force mains, booster stations, elevated storage tanks and preparation of department review comments under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (P.E.). Performs a variety of civil engineering duties including the preparation of conceptual/final design, specifications and plans related to sanitary sewer gravity and pressurized systems, lift stations, water distribution systems, including booster stations and elevated storage tanks, grading plans, and storm drainage systems.

- Analyzes, issues, and prepares reports detailing specific recommendations for implementation.
- Performs a variety of civil or mechanical engineering duties including the preparation of conceptual/preliminary and final design, specifications, and plans related to water and sanitary sewer systems.
- Must be familiar with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Rules and Regulations.
- Must have working experience in the use of the Texas Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
- Must be familiar with civil or mechanical engineering functions and field data collections and analysis including the use of the GPS equipment.
- Performs layout/design duties which include utilizing AUTO CAD, Land Development, Civil 3D, Arc view, or other available computer design tools.
- Supervises, plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinates; instructs and trains in correct methods and procedures; reviews and evaluates employee's performance.
- Carries out the City's Customer Service Plan.
- Processes customer service requests by obtaining complete customer data and information pertaining to the nature of the complaint. Gathers facts from customers and other staff sources, as well as, references physical location of complaint, and contacts appropriate internal or external organizations for further processing.
- Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.
- Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited* college or university in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering degree.
- At least one (1) year of experience in engineering.
- Council of Higher Education Accreditation (C.H.E.A.)Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Engineering-In-Training (EIT) Certification is required. Applicant must attach a copy of this certification to their application.
Continued employment is contingent on successfully obtaining required certification(s) and/or license(s) within the specified period of time indicated above from time of hire**
