Base Starting Range: $65,000 to $85,000
The actual base pay offered will depend on job-related factors such as experience, skills, training, and location within the United States.
Work Schedule & Time Zone:
This is a remote role. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the employees’ primary time zone. Some flexibility may be required to collaborate with teammates in other time zones.
OVERVIEW
SLD Technology, Inc. ("SLD") is a young, lean, fast-growing company which designs and manufactures systems and components that simplify design, speed installation and deliver superior performance in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Common applications include modular ceiling systems for operating rooms (ORs), procedure rooms, exam rooms and pharmacies requiring unidirectional, low turbulence (laminar) airflow for close temperature and humidity control, and airborne contaminant removal.

POSITION SUMMARY
This role is part of the Project Management department and serves as the operational bridge between SLD’s engineering teams and our external customers. Project Managers own the full lifecycle of custom manufacturing projects, ensuring that complex healthcare infrastructure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and to specification.
You will act as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, Mechanical Subs, and Installers, troubleshooting technical integration issues and managing the flow of information. This is a full-time position that offers 100% remote flexibility (anywhere in the USA, save for California or New York), reporting to our headquarters located in SE Portland’s Milwaukie suburb.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Project Ownership: Manage the end-to-end execution of multiple concurrent manufacturing projects, serving as the primary point of contact for General Contractors and Mechanical tiers.
- Technical Coordination: Generate, review, mark up, and coordinate submittal packages to ensure accuracy against architectural plans and site conditions.
- Schedule Management: Drive production timelines and installation windows, proactively identifying critical path risks and communicating delays to stakeholders.
- Conflict Resolution: Troubleshoot technical integration issues between SLD systems and site mechanical/structural constraints.
- Documentation Control: Manage RFI processes, change orders, release-to-production documentation, and project closeouts with high accuracy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate technical constraints into clear updates for customers to ensure they understand the progression of their project.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Construction/Manufacturing Fluency: Ability to read and interpret construction document sets (Architectural and MEP drawings).
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with technical documents and PDFs for redlining, technical review, and minor modifications. Ability to learn (or prior experience with) AutoCAD.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate conversations with contractors and engineers.
- Organization: Demonstrated success in managing multiple timelines or projects simultaneously.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently in a remote environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry Experience: Experience in commercial construction, HVAC, or steel/sheet metal fabrication.
- Project Management: Experience with Submittals, O&Ms, and Construction Administration.
- Software: Experience with Project Management software (Business Central, MS Project, Smartsheet) or CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks).
- Role History: Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager (APM) or Project Engineer for a General Contractor or Subcontractor is a plus.
