Lange Bros is seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Woodworker to join our team in the woodwork manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in woodworking, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating high-quality wood products. Journeyman Woodworker will be responsible for producing, assembling, and finishing various wood products, ensuring all projects meet our stringent quality standards. In addition to being able to perform all the tasks of a Production Worker, Journeyman must be able to perform the following tasks:
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret shop drawings and cutting bills.
- Cut, machine, and assemble a complete product from work tickets or drawings in a timely fashion.
- A journeyman should be competent in use of all machinery and tools in the cabinetmaking area, handle all setups, given complete projects such as a mantel, wainscot paneling, circulation desk or bank tellers line,
- Build custom projects independently making their own cutting bills or working off others.
- May have certain specialty such as training in fabrication of solid surface materials (such as Corian)
- Will enlist help of others and supervise them.
- Run a project with the help of others and keep others productive on that project.
- Be able to set up machinery such as table saw, overhead routers, drill press, hinge boring machine, chop, and cut off saws.
- Be able to operate a variety of hand tools including drills, screw guns, hand routers, trimmers, staple guns, and belt sanders.
- Take-off or feeding of a machine (tailing) set up by others.
- General cleanup of cabinets and millwork (such as sanding, cleaning, etc.)
- Finish sanding of wood products and knowing which grit of sandpaper to use on different material.
- Perform tasks such as inserting dowels, installing hardware.
- Attend / Participate in weekly production meetings.
- Have the necessary tools for job classification.
- Clean-up of shop
- Prep material for delivery, loading & unloading of trucks.
- Handling and storage of material
- Helping others as needed
- Inform Lead person when projects are completed.
- Quality control of material and workmanship
