Job Summary
A unique opportunity has arisen to lead the IT function across a collection of Chicago-based sister companies, National Home Rentals, Magnolia Capital, and STYL Residential. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, IT to oversee and expand the technology infrastructure supporting each company’s continued growth. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day IT operations while driving strategic initiatives that enhance security, scalability, and efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Strategy
Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff and external partners, ensuring service excellence and alignment with business goals.
Define the long-term IT strategy and roadmap, balancing operational needs with future scalability and innovation.
Establish and maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure security, reliability, and compliance across all companies.
Technical Oversight & Support
Oversee IT support operations for ~75 corporate users across multiple office locations.
Manage ticketing and escalation processes, ensuring timely and professional resolution of support requests.
Supervise installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networking infrastructure.
Systems Administration
Administer and optimize Microsoft Office 365 environments, including licensing, subscriptions, and user management.
Oversee management of Microsoft Azure products, including Active Directory, file servers, and virtual machines.
Ensure proper configuration and maintenance of VPNs, permissions, and user access.
Infrastructure & Security Management
Monitor and maintain corporate firewall systems (Meraki hardware) and implement best-in-class network security practices.
Develop and enforce security policies, including endpoint protection, user access control, and documentation of IT security standards.
Partner with leadership and external vendors to ensure all infrastructure and systems meet compliance and risk management standards.
Asset & Vendor Management
Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and configuration of hardware and software across all corporate offices.
Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and oversee lifecycle management, including hardware upgrades and replacement planning.
Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that improve performance, collaboration, and productivity.
Project Management
Lead national IT initiatives in coordination with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders.
Oversee implementation of new technologies, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Document, track, and communicate progress on IT projects and system changes to leadership teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including help desk, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
- Proven leadership experience or strong desire to step into a management role.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
- Experience with Meraki firewall hardware and VPN management.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, DNS, SAML authentication, and SSO configuration.
- Experience managing Teams VOIP phone systems preferred.
The compensation range for this position is between $100,000 to $130,000 plus a discretionary annual bonus.
