Job Summary
The Roofing Advisor is responsible for diagnosing roofing and roof-related problems, performing inspections on new roofs and roof repairs, maintaining and performing preventive maintenance for all types of roofs, while ensuring the safety of the staff, and general public regarding the grounds and buildings. We focus on roof replacements & repairs for both commercial & residential properties. This role requires good communication skills and knowledge in all types of roofing systems, storm damage insurance claims, applications, and code requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Meeting the client’s needs and wants while meeting the minimum budgeted sales as determined by management’s plan.
- Sell the clients roofing systems utilizing the Roof Rescue sales system.
- Prepare estimates in accordance with company policies
- Be available within 15 minutes by phone at all times, other than scheduled vacations or holidays.
- Arrive at appointments 5 - 10 minutes ahead of time.
- Wear floor savers while in the client’s home.
- Prepare all required submittals.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. The Roofing Advisor is responsible for financing paperwork as well as ensuring collection of cash payments. Commission is not paid until the company is paid for the job or the client has signed a financing completion form.
- Conduct daily activities with the highest level of honesty and integrity, and always display a positive attitude toward fellow team members. Understand that any misrepresentation to a client or the Sales and Marketing Manager is grounds for immediate dismissal.
- Always be safety-conscious both on the job and while driving.
- Maintain your truck to be neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible.
- Introduce crew to Homeowner if necessary and help with some of the Production Service Manager’s quality control requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma/GED required
· Have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
· Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
· Strong customer service skills
· Must pass random drug testing
· Be able to operate a smartphone and table
* Residential door knocking and/or commercial roofing experience is highly preferred but not required
Roofing Specialist Job Description:
THIS IS A SALES JOB FIRST. Your primary role is to generate new leads, manage company provided appointments and create profitable REVENUE. Some appointments will be provided based on market trends. A typical day will consist of a morning Team Meeting, an afternoon in-home roofing sales appointment or two and finished off with either a networking meeting, residential door knocking to generate business or building relationships business-to-business. You can also expect to:
- Self generate leads and sales via door knocking and networking
- Inspect homes from the ground, attic and roof following our proven process
- Create comprehensive reports, videos, estimates and sales presentations utilizing our methods 100% of the time
- Close sales using our expert practices and tools
- Create work orders to pass off to our production team
- Check in and manage your job to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform final walk-throughs with clients and collect final payment(s)
- Meet with homeowners insurance adjusters, get claims approved then pass off to management for supplementation as needed (we have a dedicated team that assists with this process!)
Physical demands & work environment
· Be able to work in the heat and in cold weather as needed
· Possess basic and/or advanced trade experience
· Present and communicate professionally (written and verbal)
· Understanding of the current building code regulations and storm damage insurance claims as they pertain to roofing sales is a plus
· Able to work both independently and as part of a team
· Heavy lifting (50 lbs), twisting, bending, use of both hands and arms, kneeling, squatting, crawling, standing and/or walking for long periods, climbing ladders and/or scaffolding and in attics.
· Wear personal protective equipment
Compensation
Base Salary:
$1000 per week for weeks 1-4 / $500 per week base week 5 and thereafter in perpetuity for the duration of your employment.
Plus Commissions:
- Self-Generated Leads: 10% commissions on self-generated full roof replacements revenue / 15% commissions on roof repairs revenue/ 10% commissions on any standalone trades revenue(siding, gutters, carpentry, flooring, etc.) unless attached to a roof replacement sale then commissions default to base pay of roof replacement commissions.
- Company Leads: 7% commissions on roof replacements revenue/ 12% commissions on repairs revenue / 7% commissions on any standalone trades revenue (siding, gutters, carpentry, flooring, etc.) unless attached to a roof replacement sale then commissions default to base pay of roof replacement commissions.
Ex: You sell an eligible self-generated roof replacement for $20,000.
$20k x 0.10 (10% commission) Your commission = $2000 + base pay
Ex: You sell an eligible company lead roof replacement for $20,000.
$20k x 0.07 (7% commission) Your commission = $1400 + base pay
*All commissions payable are subject to minimum gross profit thresholds being met. New hires are commission eligible after training period ends.
