Clark Companies, a prominent leader in the design and construction of high-end outdoor athletic facilities, is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Estimating and Project Management to join our team in Delhi, NY.
Position Overview:
This leadership role is responsible for directing the Estimating and Project Management team and overseeing all phases of the construction lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout. The Director will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in both estimating and project management, combined with a strong understanding of the construction process and proven leadership capabilities to drive efficiency and excellence across all phases of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and review detailed quantity takeoffs to ensure accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
- Solicit, coordinate, negotiate, and select bids and quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Analyze estimates to identify value engineering and the feasibility of self-performing work versus subcontracting.
- Recommend construction strategies to enhance project quality and efficiency.
- Prepare, review, and approve contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and schedules of values.
- Oversee monthly payment applications, manage project budgets, and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Coordinate quarterly Work in Process (WIP) submissions and cost to complete reviews.
- Identify, price, and negotiate change orders with project owners as needed.
- Manage project closeout procedures, ensuring the submission of as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and all required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of construction processes, project scheduling, and cost management.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and Construction Management Software (Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Project) is preferred. Experience with AutoCAD and/or Insite is a plus.
- Strong background in budget development, schedule management, and contract negotiation.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel to job sites.
Experience & Education:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating and project management.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Background in commercial sitework preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 annually (commensurate on experience).
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
