We’re seeking a Process Mechanical Designer to join our Water/Wastewater team in Gainesville, FL. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a talented group of professionals to design and draft process mechanical systems that power critical water infrastructure. Your work will help communities thrive locally and globally.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed process mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
- Create accurate construction drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation for mechanical systems.
- Work closely with process, civil, structural, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated and coordinated designs.
- Utilize CAD and 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D) to develop piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and mechanical details.
- Apply industry codes, standards, and client requirements to ensure compliance and quality.
- Assist in preparing design packages for bidding and construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
- Participate in field investigations, site surveys, and construction support activities as needed.
- Perform self-checks and peer reviews to maintain accuracy and consistency in deliverables.
- Contribute creative solutions to complex water and wastewater challenges, ensuring sustainable and cost-effective designs.

Here's what you'll need
- Experience in computer-aided drafting for water/wastewater or civil projects (typically 5+ years, but equivalent experience will be considered).
- Proficiency with design software such as MicroStation, OpenPlant, or AECOSim; familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D, Plant 3D) or Revit is a plus.
- Hands-on experience producing mechanical design drawings, including building systems, process equipment, pump and piping systems, and civil yard piping.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Knowledge of BIM workflows and 3D modeling.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $103,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
