Job Summary
The candidate shall provide on-site maritime vessel support to research, development and test activities that occur at DWST/ATI7 at CCAFS. This position serves as Maritime Specialist and Technician responsible for day-to-day support of multiple maritime vessels under control by ATI7 that perform continuous research and development test activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform navigation and operation of vessels, including 200+ ton, as required to support ATI7 activities.
- Plan and coordinate upgrades for ATI7 vessels to meet incoming RandD requirements.
- Track program activities and reporting status to synchronize and enhance the overall effectiveness of the ATl7 maritime assets.
- Be able to provide technical advice to government project managers and engineers with regard to boat operations and mission feasibility as well as plan and coordinate maritime tests and maintenance.
- Prepare for activities such as readiness reviews; utilization and safety training; and interagency coordination
- Provide history of operating, maintaining and repairing marine equipment such as winches, hydraulics, A-frames, davits, pneumatics, and shipboard systems at sea.
- Be capable of providing deck hand and swimmer services for deploying and retrieving equipment in the water.
Requirements
- Must be a US citizen.
- Current DoD clearance (TS preferred) and/or eligibility to achieve a TS/SCI clearance**.**
- A bachelor's degree with at least eight (8) years' experience with 4 years in a Captain's role OR an associate's degree with at least ten (10) years' experience and 4 years in a Captain's role or twelve (12) or more years' experience with at least 4 in a Captain's role.
- 200 Ton Captain/Masters License and some industrial experience
- Radio operator license Vessel Security Officer (VSO).
- Master of towing endorsement
- Radar/ARPA Certification.
- ECDIS certification.
- Background and drug screening check.
- Possess specialized knowledge to interpret and apply concepts and theories and make time sensitive decisions regarding personnel and equipment safety.
- Must have background in vessel management involving industrial maritime type activities such as load planning, rigging support, launch/recovery, salvage, search, mooring, multiple vessel activities, etc.
- Current TWIC or ability to acquire a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) FCC and/or MMC.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree
- Qualified to operate a forklift and a 5000-pound capacity truck mounted crane.
- CPR and First Aid Certified.
- Advanced/Rescue Diver Certified.
- Rigger/crane operator training.
- Survival Craft, and Water Survival trained.
- Basic and Advanced Firefighting.
