We are seeking a Materials And Process Engineer for our client, a leading global industrial materials company whose products are vital to the modern economy and carbon reduction. Their materials are essential to the low-carbon, electrified technologies that power modern life, which you will find in products from electric cars to wind turbines.
The Materials And Process Engineer will work closely with the Production Engineering team to ensure the seamless integration of metal powder production with upstream and downstream processes. You will also collaborate with technical specialists to manage physical processes, key control metrics, and potential hazards across all manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support powder processing operations, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and customer standards.
- Coordinate with upstream and downstream production teams to ensure continuity and efficiency across the full manufacturing process.
- Plan and implement procedures for powder preparation techniques, including mechanical processing and controlled-atmosphere treatments.
- Collaborate with vendors, maintenance teams, and procurement on equipment specifications, design reviews, and commissioning of new systems.
- Partner with R&D on the scale-up of new manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to quality assurance programs, risk assessments, and root cause investigations related to powder production processes.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy/Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in metal powder processing within industrial-scale operations. Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA and Root Cause Analysis, equipment fault diagnosis, process development, PLCs, and P&IDs is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
