Assistant Project Manager
Job brief
Precise Contractor is a full-service general contractor which delivers premium quality services to the
commercial, retail, hotel and hospitality markets. Our team is looking for an experienced Construction
Assistant Project Manager to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to the schedule while
keeping within budget. The Assistant Project Manager’s role is to assist with the planning, organization,
and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as any other responsibilities that the Project
Manager sees fit.
Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the efforts of all project activities and personnel;
Set up new projects in shared folders and Construction Online
Issue subcontractor Purchase Orders, Change Orders and ensure all contract documents are
received.
Reviews, negotiates and awards subcontracts prior to issuance to ensure there are no scope
gaps
Assist project manager with client change orders, RFIs, and determines potential cost
schedule implications, generates appropriate change orders.
Acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives; review all project
documents, including drawings, specifications contracts, scope of work, and construction
schedule;
Coordinate and facilitate both internal and building kick-off meeting with all key participants;
Prepare and issue project documents including progress reports, detailed project schedule
updates, and financial/budget updates;
Weekly meetings and other forms of communication with project team members and/or client
as appropriate, to acquaint them with unresolved problems and to provide weekly progress
updates
Generates Submittals / Procurement Schedule and ensures accuracy of internal logs;
Perform project status reviews by monitoring project schedule, submittal/RFI logs and open
items
Track payment status from clients and process payments for subcontractors ensuring paperwork
like lien waivers and invoices are received.
Ensure subcontractors provide certificates of insurance that meet contractual requirements
prior to mobilization;
Organize and deliver project close-out/As-Built documents.
Complete closeout within 30 days of project turnover.
Requirements
2-5 years of construction project management experience with a general contractor
independently managing diverse projects.
Experience in Retail and/or medical office construction (TI/remodels) highly preferred.
Proven experience managing estimating multiple projects and projects team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Bachelors Degree - construction management, architecture, engineering or related field.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills (writing and verbal)
Excellent customer service skills
An incredible team player and should work well under pressure
Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
Positive attitude; willing to go the extra mile
