Role Description
We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic Senior Vice President of OSP Construction & Engineering to help deploy our market strategy as it relates to fiber to the premises. You will be responsible for tracking and managing key operating metrics. This role involves creating a consistent roadmap for stable service delivery, evaluating new vendor technologies, and ensuring effective cross-functional communication to align with company initiatives. The position requires advanced knowledge of OSP networks, construction methodologies for fiber to the home delivery, design, GIS initiatives, and optical technologies. Candidate must be skilled at driving and presenting production metrics on a weekly basis. Reporting directly to the CEO, the candidate will drive strategic initiatives, optimize operations, and lead a high-performing team to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards. This role will represent corporate interests when interfacing with local, state, and federal governmental agencies in matters affecting the fiber optic network. “Trouble Management” reporting, emergency restoration/disaster recovery and general contractor and other vendor related duties are required.
Qualifications
BS Engineering related field or Construction Management or related experience.
· Fifteen years’ technical and management work related experience in the telecommunications industry with emphasis on transmission methods, OSP/ISP, optical networks, project management, and direct customer interface.
· Proven expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in telecommunications and fiber optic construction (FTTH, OSP)
· Strong background in project management, financials, budgeting, and P&L responsibilities
· Ten years’ experience with GIS system usage preferred.
· Proficient w/PCs, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
· Experience in Vetro or similar fiber management tool
· Outstanding critical thinking and decision-making process, the anticipation of risky business situations with deliberate and swift response to same.
· The individual will be responsible for the prompt delivery of FTTx.
· The individual must possess outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills as he/she interfaces with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendors.
