Position Overview:
- Provides patient care within scope of practice and knowledge of department policy, procedure and job description Correctly prioritizes tasks and orders completing them within 20 minutes
- Provides self-directed assistance to team members. Gives and takes direction effectively
- All documentation is complete legible, correct and current
- Cleans and prepares treatment areas between patients
- Assures supplies and equipment is in correct working order
- Identifies and intervenes on issues of patient, visitor and staff safety
- Keeps families informed appropriately
- Complaints are investigated and reported
- Takes and gives direction effectively
- Communicates problems appropriately in the correct forum
- Attends staff meetings, reads email and other key documents and responds to inquiries promptly
- Has department project, gives 2 department specific in-services/year and attends 12
- Accepts professional responsibility and accountability for professional actions
- Uses critical thinking skills in daily practice
- Promotes teamwork by participating with the healthcare team and communicates appropriately and effectively.
- Assumes responsibilities of Unit Coordinator when UC not on duty.

Position Qualifications:
- Physical Demands
- Assists with lifting and moving patients
- Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.)

Minimum Education/Certification
- High School or equivalent
- Current EMT certification
- Current BLS certification
