Position Overview
In this role, you’ll oversee and optimize outbound shipments from our manufacturing and distribution centers. Using our Transportation Management System (TMS), you’ll manage load planning, carrier coordination, and delivery execution ensuring every shipment meets our strict standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Your work will directly support the continuous flow of critical medical products to hospitals, clinics, and distributors across North America.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Transportation / Logistics Planner
- Plan, schedule, and optimize LTL and TL shipments to balance cost efficiency, delivery timelines, and carrier capacity.
- Rate and schedule shipments accurately while aligning with customer delivery requirements.
- Proactively monitor shipments, identify potential delays, and implement quick resolutions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Track and analyze carrier performance, cost metrics, and service levels, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal teams.
- Manage the logistics department inbox, ensuring all inquiries are handled promptly and professionally.
- Support logistics reporting and data analysis to enhance operational efficiency and service reliability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation planning, logistics coordination, or a related field (ground transportation focus).
- Solid understanding of LTL/TL freight operations and carrier networks.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a sense of urgency.
- Commitment to compliance, accuracy, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to collaborate across departments and external partners.
