Position Overview:

Bolt Transport is seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to oversee the complete lifecycle of truckload shipments in a fast-paced truckload brokerage environment. This cradle-to-grave position is responsible for managing customer freight from quoting and load acceptance through final delivery and maintaining strong relationships with customers and carrier partners.

The ideal candidate has a proven background in truckload brokerage operations, thrives in a dynamic environment, and takes ownership of every shipment to ensure exceptional service, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Manage truckload shipments from order entry through delivery and completion.
Source, negotiate, and secure carrier capacity across dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and specialized equipment as needed.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, carriers, and owner-operators.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and carriers throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Provide accurate freight quotes, transit updates, shipment visibility, and proactive communication.
Track shipments, monitor pickup and delivery performance, and quickly resolve service issues, delays, and exceptions.
Coordinate appointment scheduling and communicate changes with customers, receivers, shippers, and carriers.
Negotiate competitive carrier rates while maintaining service expectations and load profitability.
Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), load boards, carrier databases, and tracking platforms to execute daily operations.
Verify carrier compliance, insurance, operating authority, and onboarding requirements before dispatch.
Maintain complete and accurate shipment documentation, including rate confirmations, customer instructions, and billing information.
Collaborate with customers to identify transportation solutions that improve service and efficiency.
Monitor freight market conditions and carrier availability to make informed operational decisions.
Contribute to continuous process improvements that enhance customer experience and operational performance.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in truckload brokerage, carrier procurement, logistics operations, dispatch, or freight brokerage.
Demonstrated experience managing freight in a cradle-to-grave brokerage environment.
Strong knowledge of truckload transportation, freight markets, routing, capacity management, and carrier operations.
Experience negotiating freight rates with carriers while maintaining profitability and service standards.
Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), DAT, Truckstop, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Existing carrier network and transportation industry relationships.
Experience working with high volume truckload freight.
Knowledge of carrier compliance, freight claims, accessorials, and transportation documentation.
Experience supporting key customer accounts and maintaining service level expectations.
