Duties & Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and optimize cathode/anode composites to meet R&D objectives
Build cells and conduct cell testing, with a focus on rigor, repeatability, and statistical analyses in an industrial setting
Effectively communicate procedures, results, and uncertainties, in written documents and in-person meetings
Source, characterize, and evaluate materials from various suppliers
Work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product life cycle, and work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and Production to take battery product designs and changes from initial concept through prototype development and into full production
Contribute to technical writing of grants, patents, and reports
Perform other functions as required supporting R&D and production

Qualifications

PHD in chemistry, or material science, or engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience in lithium-ion RD and/or manufacturing
M.S. with 5+ years of experience in lithium-ion RD and/or manufacturing
B. S with 10+ years of experience in lithium-ion RD and/or manufacturing
Project management experience a plus
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task across several teams and projects
Maintain rigorous and absolute adherence to safety protocols and role modeling same for all colleagues and customers
Ability to function autonomously to meet objectives
US citizen or a green card holder
Able to travel when necessary to fulfill objectives
