Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercialization Project Manager to
own the end-to-end commercialization process for new products and packaging from internal handoff through customer launch. This is a hands-on coordinator/doer role responsible for executing tasks as well as tracking progress. Reports to the Commercialization Manager and collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, QA, Production, Purchasing, and suppliers. Requires 3–5 years of relevant experience (preferably food/CPG manufacturing), ability to manage 10+ concurrent projects, and comfort working in environments where PMs execute as well as coordinate. PMP preferred.

Core Responsibilities

1) Project Management

Maintain master tracker for launches, reformulations, and packaging updates (milestones, owners, status).
Manage Stage Gate process, ensuring documentation and approvals at each phase.
Lead cross-functional meetings; track risks and escalate issues early.
Keep detailed records of decisions, activity, and approvals.

2) Development & Specification Management

Translate Sales briefs into initial item specifications.
Gather customer requirements (dating, pack configs, pallet specs, dimensions, labeling).
Track samples, attributes, shipment dates, and feedback.
Document internal specs with R&D/Production (equipment, parameters, materials).
Maintain current master spec files from concept through production approval.

3) Supplier Coordination (Existing Vendors)

Confirm packaging specs, samples, and data sheets with film, label, and corrugated suppliers.
Verify artwork, print requirements, dimensions, board specs, MOQs, and lead times with Purchasing.
Ensure all component documentation and approvals are complete before Stage Gate advancement.

4) Regulatory Compliance

Verify label accuracy (ingredients, allergens, net weight, nutrition facts, dating).
Ensure MAV weight compliance and customer-specific label standards (GS1, pallet labels, case codes).
Coordinate with QA on shelf life, food safety, and regulatory documentation.
Monitor labeling regulations and flag risks.

Qualifications

Required

3–5 years in project management, commercialization, product development, or operations (food/CPG preferred).
Proven ability to manage overlapping projects and cross-functional dependencies.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Proficient in Excel/Office and project tracking tools.
Professional communication with customers and stakeholders.

Preferred

PMP or equivalent.
Small-company experience with hands-on execution.
Knowledge of food labeling regulations.
ERP or PM software experience (e.g., Smartsheet, Monday.com).
Exposure to flexible film, labels, and corrugated packaging.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience; discussed during interview process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
